Don’t let the name of the restaurant fool you – there is absolutely no lamb (or wolf) on the menu! There is, however, a wide selection of filling and flavoursome vegetarian fare.
Fans of the cuisine at the former vegetarian hot spot Vanilla Black will feel at home here as the head chef, Franco Masolin, previously worked there. Both the décor and the menu are contemporary and cutting edge.
Although everything on the menu was tempting, we eventually settled on the signature Wulf Burger with a side of Mac ‘N’ Cheese which was absolutely delicious.
The Wulf Burger is a seitan burger, topped with the usual fixings of tomato, baby gem, pickle, and red onion plus a generous squidge of cashew aioli. This is packed into a brioche bun and served with wedges. You can even add plant-based cheese to it.
The Truffle Pasta was also yummy, although the mushrooms were a smidge overpowering and we would have enjoyed it even more if the roux was a little thicker.
You’ll find plant-based versions of old favourites like Smoked Tofu Caesar Salad or Chilli ‘Non’ Carne as well as more contemporary dishes such as the Chargrilled Cauliflower Steak. These can all be polished off with one of their lovely desserts. Breakfast, brunch and sourdough pizzas are also served here.
Prices are quite competitive given the swanky location of the restaurant and the quality of the food, so there really is no excuse to not give it a try.
